There are several benefits of following up with an employer once you have submitted your resume. According to Mary Sherwood Sevinsky, some of those benefits include ensuring your resume was received, confirms the right person received it, gives you an opportunity to obtain additional information, highlights your organization and follow up skills, demonstrates you want the job and shows your perseverance.
