Are you an event planner? Do you have a passion for public relations and marketing? The Mahaska County Agency on Aging needs you!
The MCAA, also known as the Senior Center, has two paid internships available – one for the spring semester, and one for the summer. Responsibilities include working with the MCAA Board to plan, organize, and facilitate events; provide marketing and public relations materials; update their social media; and assist with various fundraising activities. Among the first responsibilities – planning for a May Memorial Golf Tournament! Each position is for a maximum of 250 hours at $10 per hour. The hours are flexible. The Board is looking for young, fresh ideas for the senior citizens served by the Center.
To apply for either the spring or summer internship, submit a resume and cover letter to Debbie Stevens by January 5. Interviews will be scheduled early the next week, with the Board making a decision to hire on January 14. The spring intern will start the week after that. The summer intern will start in May, and receive updates on projects before the spring intern completes his/her responsibilities. Questions? Contact Debbie Stevens in Penn Hall 220, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
